Annually the International Institute of St. Louis helps thousands of immigrants become more integrated into America. We teach English, resettle refugees, help newcomers find jobs and provide orientation, translation and other supportive services. In turn, these new comers expand the richness of our community’s diversity and help revitalize our economy.

This is the first year the agency has had an AmeriCorps direct service program and the second year for an AmeriCorps VISTA program. Members are meeting the needs of immigrants, while enriching their own lives, by assisting in providing resettlement services (AmeriCorps State) and are involved with capacity building activities (AmeriCorps VISTA) to help refugees rebuild their lives, integrate into their communities and become self sufficient as soon as possible.
