Amanda Gillespie’s service from 2001-2002 as a Team Leader in
AmeriCorps*NCCC has inspired a successful public service career in “making
people safer smarter and healthier” (AmeriCorps Pledge). Amanda is currently a
supervisor for the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, a national nonprofit
founded by the American Heart Association and the William J. Clinton
Foundation. The organization is also part of First Lady Michelle Obama’s
initiative, the Partnership for a Healthier America and Let’s Move. Amanda is a
leader and community change agent with the Alliance for a Healthier Generation,
one of the preeminent organizations working to reverse the childhood obesity
epidemic in the United States.
